Glucosamine, Chondroitin, and Manganese (Click here to read more!)
    • A U.S. Navy study investigated alternative treatments for osteoarthritis and other degenerative joint diseases (DJD), since the most common treatment with NSAIDs has many well-documented side effects.
    • Glucosamine and chondroitin sulfate have been used to treat such conditions outisde of the U.S., so the study utilized these materials, as well as manganese ascorbate, in a placebo-controlled trial to treat knee and lower back pain.
    • The study showed that the patients taking the medication saw improvements in knee mobility, a decrease in knee pain, and a higher ability to perform physical tasks, such as climbing stairs and running, versus those who received the placebo.
    • The study displayed no significant change in spinal DJD versus the placebo; however, the medication didn’t cause any negative effects, and it was well-tolerated in patients.
    • Novotech received a patent to produce powdered omega-3 ingredients, utilizing a new, unique method.
    • While most methods turn omega-3 fish oils into powder through converting it into droplets that are coated (by spraying) in a protein/starch combination, Novotech is using a different process.
    • Novotech uses a salt from omega-3 fatty acids that is not microencapsulated, and contains calcium, creating a stable ingredient that has minimal taste.
    • In addition to the article summarized above, to the left is a study detailing the effects of Glucosamine and Chondroiton, combined with Omega-3 fatty acids, on osteoarthritis.
    • GRAS-designated and supported by U.S. clinical published research.
    • Manufactured in GMP-compliant, ISO 9001:2008 registered, FSSC22000 certified MSM production facility, the only single-purpose MSM production facility in North America.
    • Distilled, not crystalized, for optimal purity, using heat to filter impurities and by-products of the manufacturing process.
    • Kosher, non-GMO, gluten and allergen free, non-shellfish derived, and vegan.
    • Supports joint health, seasonal immune health, and liver health.
    • Turmeric is a plant in the ginger family found in South Asia and is used to treat skin infections and inflammation.
    • It is also being studied for its possible benefits in Alzheimer’s, cancer, osteoarthritis, and pancreatisis.
    • When given orally to manage chronic anterior uveitis, turmeric/curcumin produced no side effects.
    • In a double-blind, placebo-controlled study, patients with ulcerative colitis were given either placebo or turmeric/curcumin, and those who received the turmeric had a much lower relapse rate than those who received the placebo.
    • Studies have shown promising results when using turmeric to prevent and treat several types of cancers, including prostate, liver, breast, skin, and colon, in test tube and animal studies.
    • Clinical studies reported turmeric improved lipid profile.
    • Due to its anti-inflammatory benefits, it’s been found to prevent renal fibrosis and decrease systolic blood pressure in patients with relapsed lupus nephritis.
    • Patented turmeric complex clinically demonstarted to safely deliver 5-6 times greater bioavailability versus the leading absorption turmeric ingredients.
    • Delivers 45-50% curcuminolds plus a range of over 200 beneficial turmeric root nutrients.
    • Prepared using a physical, non-chemical process, with no nanotechnology.
    • Absorption is six times superior to Curcumin with oil and five times superior to Curcumin with phospholipids.
    • Psyllium husk has been shown to not only be a safe, effective laxative, but has also been added to dietary supplements to lower blood cholesterol, particularly LDL cholesterol, and maintain blood glucose homeostasis, helping to prevent cardiovascular diseases.
    • Unlike other cholesterol-lowering substances, such as pectins and beta-glucans, which ferment in the gut and don’t help bowel function, psyllium husk has a stucture that hinders fermentation and allows it to increase stool output and give the stool a gel-like consistency.
    • This gel acts like a lubricant when alleviating constipation, allowing for a greater ease of stool passage. Psyllium has also been shown to slow down gastric emptying and colon transit, relieving liquid stool and diarrhea.
    • Anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant properties in psyllium fiber may help treat irritable bowel diseases, inflammatory bowel diseases, ulcerative colitis, and even cardiovascular diseases. Furthermore, the fatty and butyric acids that psyllium helps the intestines create can help prevent colon cancer.
    • The FDA has found that psyllium fiber “will reduce the risk of coronary heart disease” and can reduce cholesterol and prevent cardiovascular diseases. Psyllium has shown in studies to lower blood lipid levels, control type 2 diabetes, lower blood pressure in hypertensive and obese subjects, and increase fullness after meals to reduce ad libitum fat intake.
